Theo & Wild was born during the early days of maternity leave with my baby boy, Theo. Like many new parents, we found ourselves spending loads of time outside — in the garden, at the park, and anywhere we could catch a bit of rare British sunshine.

I’d throw down my old picnic rug, but it just wasn’t designed for real family life outdoors. It wasn’t waterproof or wipeable, didn’t cope with damp grass or sandy beach days, and definitely wasn’t something I loved the look of.

That’s when the idea hit me.

What if there was a picnic mat made specifically for families — one that worked for picnics, park days and beach adventures, was easy to clean, made without harmful materials, and looked good too?
